DIFFERENCES

I live close to two towns which are in a very close proximity to iodine another. Although one is more of a ghost town by day the other is a diverse story. Northdown Road in Cliftonville has changed dramatically over the years especially in go over of the migrants, who now have food stores for their own ethnic groups. This is not dissimilar to what has happened in City Road. (K Hetherington chapter1, p13) Like in City Road Northdown Road has also developed into a socially mixed and ethnically diverse community of local residency as quoted by k. Hetherington.
CHANGES IN MY STREET
Long gone have the family run fruit and veg shops with Tesco Extra now being at the far end of the town, but more estate agents arrived during the frugal boom, this however has fanned out since the recession, especially the independent ones. I never even noticed the amount of second tidy sum furniture shops there are now until I watched the strong lives DVD.



There are still a couple of bakeshops which the older extension still adore and the ridiculous newsagents, but there were plenty more to be seen seat in the good old days.
EMOTIONS
There are decidedly different emotions from the old to the young about the change inside their local area. As I mention earlier the Tesco purposeless that appeared some years ago was not welcomed or valued but again used all the time for thingamajig similar to City Road (Scene 3, L Robson). The older generation believe it is no longer safe to go out at night and would prefer to see things go support to the bygone era of the personal service and 1st named price with shop keepers.
