The Impact of the Black Death

The Black Death or disgust was caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis and sprinkle fleas that infected Asiatic black rats. It originated in China, and was first carried to the Mediterranean ports from the Crimea, followed the trade routes and spread into Europe. Crop failures, famine, and insufficient sanitation, made the cosmos more penetrable to disease. In the following years after the epidemic, the economy, church and population was devastated. Money became the means of paid labor and a vogue to buy loyalty. I will discuss the cause, spread, impact on the population that survived, the world that existed after, and the fears that remain today.
In the years before the plague epidemic, there was a decrease in temperatures worldwide. This came to be known as a little ice term. During the growing season the temperatures did not get warm exuberant or stay warm long enough to interpret good crops. Many people starved, and many others did not impart enough to eat. Just after the little ice board started the bubonic plague spread from the Yunnan part of China (Bentely, et al., 2008).

The plague was caused by Yersinia pestis, a contagious bacillus, which carried by rat flea Xenopsylla cheopsis; on the black rats that inhabited the ships. As the ships went from port to port they unwittingly spread the rats and the plague. Those infected with the bubonic plague had a sulky purple or black color to their skin; that is where the advert Black Death came from. The inhabitants of the cities were growing, the crops were failing, and there was no proper hygiene available. These factors made the population more vulnerable to disease (In cyclopaedia of World Trade From Ancient Times to the Present, 2005).
